spacerhapsody:

okay, so here’s the thing: for new year’s eve i’m doing absolutely nothing this year.

mainly because i’m in the middle of moving and desperately need a break from both carrying and building up stuff all day and people. but also because i’m so sick of the expectations that you’ll have to make it the party of the year.

so i’ll spend the day/night reading and watching digimon, but i might post a few memes. If you want to do me one last favour for the year you know what to do.

can I high-five you? Honestly. I haven’t planned anything either because I genuinely don’t care anymore. Tonight is for treating myself, and that includes doing everything in my damn pyjamas.

Can I join in the high-five? I’ll be pleased with myself if I don’t sleep through midnight. *sniffles past blocked sinuses* So this was a good post to see on my dash today.

Final Fantasy IX Is Coming To PC And Phones

Final Fantasy IX, one of the best Final Fantasy games, is coming to PC and smartphones at some point in 2016, Square Enix announced today in Japan.

Square didn’t announce a western release but it’s safe to say one will follow, given that every other Final Fantasy mobile and PC port has made it to U.S. shores.

It’s not quite clear how much they’re changing for this version, but the trailer (above) shows sharpened, higher-res versions of characters like Zidane, not unlike the PC versions of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII. (source)

Also, I think the upside of my current selection of Marvel comics is that, collectively, they’re all less likely to get pulled into these waste-of-time, waste-of-money events. :/ And after Secret Wars so thoroughly screwed me over, I’m really liking the sound of that.

(Seriously, though, props to some of these writers. I normally make it a point to avoid “superhero balancing the routines of normal life” type stories, but the writers of Squirrel Girl and Hellcat especially are making such stories quite appealing again.)

Seriously, though, y’all should give “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” some love. Issue #2 seriously features a prolonged scene with a tiny little science geek lecturing this huge red dinosaur for being a big dumb baby and said huge red dinosaur looking like a cat that’s just been caught digging in the garbage. And I think that’s beautiful

Upside – the pull list for 2016 is in!

On the Marvel side:

  • Squirrel Girl
  • Hellcat
  • Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur
  • Ms. Marvel
  • Angela: Queen of Hel
  • The Ultimates

On the indy side, I am properly jumping on the monthly bandwagon for:

  • Bitch Planet
  • Lumberjanes
  • Rat Queens
  • The Wicked + The Divine

A very different, but in my opinion much more promising roster than last year. Here’s hoping that these titles make it into 2017 unscathed in this fickle market.
